Hear how it all began on the ½ tour, a mezzanine view of ice cream production, a stroll down the hall of fame (25 year history of Ben & Jerry), then a FREE ice cream sampling! On your way to Stowe, be sure to visit the Cabot Creamery satellite store offering a tantalizing shopping and tasting experience. Clear your palate and get ready to sample some of the most delicious cheeses, wines and other gourmet foods available! Cabot cheddar cheese - voted Best Cheese in the World - is sure to leave you wanting more. The store is open from 6PM to 9PM daily, except for major holidays. The Cabot Creamery farm located just 35 miles from Stowe, has been in operation since 1919, and offers daily tours to the public. For $1.00 per person this is a great deal for families. Watch the mining process of granite as part of the guided tours of the largest, deepest granite quarry (600 feet deep) in the United States. The tour of the manufacturing facility includes seeing the craftsmen skillfully transform the granite into beautiful memorials and statuaries. After the tour, experience bowling on lanes made out of granite, as well as visiting the theater and gift shop. Tours are offered Monday - Friday from June to mid-October, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., departing every 45 minutes.
